High Voltage Festival: Saturday (2011)

Mile End station exit certainly had a slightly different feel..

Starting the day with Irish coffee and breakfasts in our local cafe of choice, we headed to Camden Town station to begin the arduous task of getting to Mile End station. One of the best things about the journey to a festival is the slow increase in the concentration of metallers in the near vicinity, and nowhere is this more pronounced than on the tube. By the time we reached Mile End it was clear that everyone was on their way, and the atmosphere continued to build as we made our way into the, admittedly grey, sunlight with nothing in our path except a ten minute walk to the site.

Day 2! Well Electric Wizard made no appearance yesterday, details to come in our review on Wednesday, but the day was still great, lots of great music and many great pints. Despite there being fewer bands we want to see today its still looking like its gonna be a doozy.

Having been rudely awakened from my dozing stupor by a group of festival tits moving from gazebo to gazebo, claiming the importance of immediate gazebo parties despite irate responses from all those attempting to slumber in the vicinity, I attempted in vain to squeeze a bit more unconscious time for recuperation.

Tis a mere week away and here at Adrenochromemusic we are excited! This festival is in our own back yard, shouldn’t have to deal with scrotty festival toilets, slumming it in the campsite with the plebs or dealing with camping gear that 10 pints won’t even make comfortable. No! Thirty minutes on the tube back to your own bed. Yes! The line-up isn’t too bad either.
